smart & smooth: the workflow

Photographers set up their profile only once – after that, the workflow with Contrima is quick and straightforward. QR codes are generated in just a few moments and can be customised individually for each shoot.

01

Create Account and Choose Plan

Photographers create their account with minimal details and then choose their plan. The Personal plan generates QR cards in the Contrima design. The Professional plan additionally offers a custom PDF card design, DTP export, a business presence with company and logo, and the ability to sell via Stripe.

Important for all further steps: Photographers should be logged into their Contrima account.

02

Set Up Profile and Standards

In the profile, photographers set their standards for the three licensing models: gifting, exchanging, or selling – including prices, discounts, and the desired approvals.

For each shoot, these defaults can be individually adjusted.

03

Generate QR Codes

Photographers select the licensing model, target country, and target language – and the appropriate cards with QR codes are created: as a digital single card for smartphones, as a PDF tableau for high-quality paper cards in business card format, or as DTP export data.

04

Use or Preconfigure QR Card

The cards are ready for immediate use. If desired, individual cards can be further customized:

  • for digital single cards directly on the smartphone via "Configure Details",
  • for paper cards simply by scanning the card – provided the photographer is logged into their Contrima account.

Note: Price Freeze
Once a photographed person scans the QR code for the first time, Contrima freezes the prices – changes are no longer possible after that.

05

Bring QR Code into the Shoot

For an overview during multiple shoots in a day, a photo or screenshot of the QR code including photographer code is useful. The photographer code links the shoot and collection – the collection itself is created with the first scan. Since photos and QR codes are chronologically dated, the codes seamlessly integrate into the shooting process, ensuring the association with RAW files is always traceable. Black images additionally provide separation.

Practical: If you scan a paper card, configure it if necessary, and then tap "Back", you see the QR code of the card directly on the smartphone and can save it there as a screenshot.

06

QR Code as a Connection to Photographed Persons

Whether before, during, or after the shoot: Photographers offer the photographed persons the QR code to scan. By providing an email address, an individual permanent link is generated – and the connection is established.

07

Edit Photos and Prepare Collection

After RAW development – and once the QR code has been scanned – the draft collection is ready in the collection editor. The photographer receives an email with the direct link to upload the images and release the collection.

08

Role and Rights of Photographed Persons

Through their permanent link, individuals assign themselves, clarify responsibilities for minors, and agree to the terms. Subsequently or after purchase, they can download the images.

09

Proof, Licenses, and Documentation

The collection also serves as an evidence archive: It archives original images, participants, declarations, agreements, and usage rights – including license PDFs for photographers and all involved persons.

10

Billing via Stripe

Contrima processes sales via Stripe. During onboarding, photographers receive their own Stripe Direct Connect account, through which all financial transactions are handled – including payouts.

11

Favourites and Future Gallery Use

In the collection editor, photographers mark their best images as favourites. After individual review by the photographer and confirmation by the depicted persons, these favourites are available for the photographer's own gallery or the Contrima gallery.
