smart & smooth: the workflow

Photographers create their account with just a few details and then choose their plan. The Personal plan generates QR cards in the Contrima design. The Professional plan also offers a custom PDF card design, DTP export, a business presence with company name and logo, and the option to sell via Stripe.

Important for all subsequent steps: photographers should be signed in to their Contrima account.

In their profile, photographers define their defaults for the three licence models: Gift, Exchange, or Sell – including prices, discounts, and the desired releases.

For each shoot, these defaults can be adjusted individually.

Photographers select the licence model, target country, and target language – and the appropriate cards with QR codes are created: as an individual digital card for a smartphone, as a PDF sheet for high-quality business-card-sized paper cards, or as DTP export data.

The cards are ready to use immediately. Those who wish can also customize individual cards:

• for individual digital cards, directly on a smartphone via “Configure details,”
• for paper cards, simply by scanning the card – provided the photographer is signed in to Contrima with their own account.

Note: price freeze
As soon as a photographed person scans the QR code for the first time, Contrima freezes the prices – changes are no longer possible after that.

For an overview when handling multiple shoots in one day, a photo or screenshot of the QR code, including the photographer code, provides clarity. The photographer code connects the shoot and the collection – the collection itself is created with the first scan. Since photos and QR codes are dated chronologically, the codes fit seamlessly into the shooting workflow, and the assignment to the RAW files remains traceable at all times. Black frames provide additional separation.

Practical: if you scan a paper card, configure it if needed, and then tap “Back,” you will see the card’s QR code directly on the smartphone and can save it there as a screenshot.

Whether before, during, or after the shoot: photographers offer photographed persons the QR code to scan. By providing an email address, an individual permanent link is generated – and the connection is established.

After RAW development – and once the QR code has been scanned – the draft collection is available in the collection editor. The photographer receives an email with the direct link to upload the images and release the collection.

Through their permanent link, individuals assign themselves, clarify responsibilities for minors, and agree to the terms. Afterwards, or after purchase, they can download the images.

The collection also serves as an evidence archive: it archives original images, participants, declarations, agreements, and usage rights – including licence PDFs for photographers and all individuals involved.

Contrima processes sales via Stripe. During onboarding, photographers receive their own Stripe Direct Connect account, through which all payment-related matters are handled – including payouts.

In the collection editor, photographers mark their best images as favourites. After individual review by the photographer and confirmation by the depicted persons, these favourites are ready for the photographer’s own gallery or the Contrima gallery.
