Photographers only set up their profile once – after that, the workflow with Contrima runs quickly and smoothly. QR codes are generated in just a few moments and can be customised individually for specific shoots.
Photographers create their account by providing a few details and then select their plan. The Personal plan generates QR cards in the Contrima design. The Professional plan also offers a custom PDF card design, DTP export, a business profile with company and logo, and the option to sell via Stripe.
Important for all subsequent steps: Photographers should be logged into their Contrima account.
In their profile, photographers set their standards for the three licence models: Give, Swap or Sell – including prices, discounts and the desired permissions.
You can deviate from these guidelines on a case-by-case basis for each shoot.
Photographers select the licence model, target country and target language – and the corresponding cards with QR codes are generated: as a single digital card for smartphones, as a PDF template for high-quality paper cards in business card format, or as DTP export data.
The cards are ready to use straight away. If you wish, you can also customise individual cards:
Please note: Price freeze
As soon as a person in the photo scans the QR code for the first time, Contrima freezes the prices – changes are no longer possible after that.
A photo or screenshot of the QR code, including the photographer’s code, helps keep track of multiple shoots in a single day. The photographer’s code links the shoot to the collection – the collection itself is created with the first scan. As photos and QR codes are dated chronologically, the codes fit seamlessly into the shoot workflow, ensuring that the association with the RAW files remains traceable at all times. Black images also provide a clear separation.
Handy: If you scan a paper card, configure it as needed and then tap ‘Back’, you’ll see the card’s QR code directly on your smartphone and can save it there as a screenshot.
Whether before, during or after the shoot: photographers offer the QR code to the subjects for them to scan. By entering an email address, a personalised permanent link is generated – and the connection is established.
Once the RAW files have been developed – and as soon as the QR code has been scanned – the draft collection is ready in the collection editor. The photographer receives an email with a direct link to upload the images and share the collection.
Using their permanent link, the subjects assign themselves to the collection, clarify responsibilities in the case of minors, and agree to the terms. They can then download the images immediately or after the purchase.
The collection also serves as a proof archive: it archives original images, participants, declarations, agreements and rights of use – including licence PDFs for photographers and all persons involved.
Contrima processes sales via Stripe. Upon onboarding, photographers receive their own Stripe Direct Connect account, through which all financial transactions are handled – including payouts.
In the collection editor, photographers mark their best images as favourites. Once the photographer has reviewed them individually and the people pictured have given their consent, these favourites are ready for the photographer’s own gallery or the Contrima gallery.
