Why is a non-depicted mother or grandmother not counted as a depicted adult person?

Because the prepared person entries only describe depicted individuals. A mother, grandmother, or accompanying person can act as a contact, invite, or support without being in the images themselves. Therefore, they are not automatically counted as depicted adult persons.
